Sound Calibration

Regular calibration of sound and noise equipment is essential to maintain its accuracy and ensure equipment still performs to recognised industry standards.

Sound level meters essentially measure the sound pressure in relation to a reference standard and this then given as the decibel (dB) reading. These decibel rating is an important measurement, particularly when measuring both noise pollution at airports and the sound level at heavy construction sites and manufacturing environments. Measurement ranges in most meters are determined by the frequency range of human hearing, which is 20Hz to 20kHz.

Offering Traceable calibrations on Sound Level Meters, there are two options, our Standard calibration - 1 frequency and 3 sound levels or Premier Calibration - 10 frequency levels, A and C weighting, 3 sound levels (94dB, 104dB and 114dB) and graphical frequency response. Traceable Calibration carried out in accordance with BS 7580 61672.

Also included in our sound calibration capabilities are dose meters and acoustic calibrators and we are able to calibrate 1/4", 1/2" and 1" microphones and preamps over the frequency range of 250Hz to 100kHz and carry out a diaphragm inspection as well.
